The books in the Little Bear series were written by Else Holmelund Minarik, and Maurice Sendak was responsible for the illustrations in those books. Maurice Sendak's Little Bear is an educational children's television series that is broadcast in Canada. It was originally developed by Nelvana for Nickelodeon, but it now airs on Treehouse TV in Canada and Nick Jr. in the United States. In the late 1990s, it made its debut in the United Kingdom on the Children's BBC and was later included in the Toy Box BBC video collection. It was also broadcast on Nick Jr. UK, and it can currently be seen on Tiny Pop. After the conclusion of the series, a feature-length film adapted specifically for direct-to-video and DVD release was also produced.
