Five seasons of the American sitcom Living Single broadcast on the Fox network between August22, 1993 and January1, 1998. The sitcom centered on six friends who shared personal and professional adventures while residing in a Brooklyn brownstone. All five seasons of its run, Living Single was among the top five African-American sitcoms in terms of viewership. Sister Lee, the firm of Yvette Lee Bowser, created the series in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television. In contrast to NBC's "Must See TV" on Thursday nights throughout the 1990s, African American and Latino audiences flocked to Fox's Thursday night lineup of Martin, Living Single, and New York Undercover. During the 1996–1997 season, these were the three shows with the greatest ratings among black households.
