Mad Dogs

Mad Dogs is a British black comedy and psychological thriller TV show that debuted on Sky1 on February 10, 2011. It was created by Cris Cole. It is made by Left Bank Pictures, and Palma Pictures is also involved. In the show, John Simm, Marc Warren, Max Beesley, and Philip Glenister play four middle-aged friends who get together in a villa in Majorca to celebrate their friend Alvo's early retirement. But when Alvo is killed, the group gets caught up in the world of crime and corrupt police. The series was supposed to be about a rock band at first, but the idea was changed because bands have been "done to death." After some terrestrial networks showed interest, British Sky Broadcasting decided to make the show. In May 2010, the movie was filmed all over the island of Majorca. It cost about four million euros and took 44 days to make. The main themes are friendship and getting older. Glenister said it was about getting older and "getting closer to death." Three 30-second ads for the show were made by photographer David LaChapelle. Mad Dogs debuted with 1.61 million viewers, making it Sky1's 17th highest-rated show ever, and critics liked what they saw. They saw similarities with British gangster movies, especially Sexy Beast from 2000.
