Mr. Belvedere

Mr. Belvedere is a popular sitcom that was first broadcast on ABC in the United States from March 15, 1985, all the way through July 8, 1990. The character of Lynn Aloysius Belvedere was developed by Gwen Davenport for her novel Belvedere, which was published in1947. The novel was eventually made into the film Sitting Pretty, which was released in 1948. The eponymous character of the sitcom, played by Christopher Hewett, is a housekeeper who accepts a position with an American family whose patriarch, George Owens (Bob Uecker), is the protagonist of the sitcom.
