Out of This World is an American science fiction sitcom about a teenage girl with extraordinary supernatural abilities because she is half-alien. From September 17, 1987 through May 25, 1991, it aired in syndication. At first, the show was part of NBC's Prime Time Begins at 7:30 initiative, which saw the network's owned and operated stations air first run comedies to counter-program rival networks' game shows, sitcom reruns, and other programming. On alternate weeks, viewers could catch new episodes of Marblehead Manor and She's the Sheriff, as well as a rerun of the 1983 sitcom We Got It Made and the drama You Can't Take It With You on the same channel. Three of the shows had low ratings, and only Out of This World was continued for a second season after NBC halted the experiment in 1987-88. It was relocated to weekend time slots after the first season and remained there until the fourth season, when it was cancelled.
