Phoenix Nights

Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights is a British comedy show about The Phoenix Club, a working men's club in the northern English town of Farnworth, Greater Manchester. The show was written by Neil Fitzmaurice, Peter Kay, and Dave Spikey. It was made by Goodnight Vienna Productions and Ovation Entertainments, and it was shown on Channel 4 in the UK. All of the music was written by Toni Baker and Peter Kay. Paddy McGuinness contributed additional content. Two series have been made, which first aired in 2001 and 2002. The show is a spin-off of the fake documentary seriesThat Peter Kay Thing, which in turn gave rise to the show Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere. It won the People's Choice Award at the British Comedy Awards in 2002 and was nominated for several others. Kay also plays multiple roles on the show and directed the second series. In September2006, Kay said on BBC Radio 1 that a third series of Phoenix Nights has been written, but it is not known when the series will be filmed. On May8,2007, Kay made another announcement promising that another series will be made. But in interviews with The Sentinel and the Croydon Guardian in late2009, Dave Spikey said that neither he nor his co-writer Neil Fitzmaurice knew of any plans to bring the series back.
