Princess Ja Myung

The South Korean historical drama Ja Myung Go came out in 2009. It stars Jung Ryeo-won, Park Min-young, and Jung Kyung-ho. It aired on SBS on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21:55 from March 9 to July 21, 2009. There were 39 episodes. It is based on the Korean folk tale Prince Hodong and the Princess of Nakrang, which tells about the Nakrang Kingdom and how it fell apart. According to the story, there was a famous drum called the jamyeonggo, which means "the drum that beats by itself." This mysterious drum had the power to automatically sound an alarm whenever enemies attacked its kingdom. The drum's sound made nearby countries, like the warrior state of Goguryeo, think twice before attacking Nakrang. Hodong, a prince from Goguryeo, went to Nakrang with the goal of destroying the drum. But the prince fell in love with the princess of Nakrang, which was a surprise. For her love, the princess decided to betray her country by tearing off the drum. Because of this, her country fell apart, and she was killed. Prince Hodong held her body and cried over her death. The drama series, on the other hand, adds a new twist by making the drum a person. Ja-myung, the Nakrang Kingdom princess's hidden sister, plays the role of the drum. Ra-hee grows up as the princess of Nakrang, where everyone loves her. Ja-myung, on the other hand, survives an attempt on her life and lives as a commoner. Prince Hodong is from the Goguryeo Kingdom, which is at war with Nakrang. He is torn between two countries and two women, and he must choose between love and duty.
