Rescue Me
Rescue Me is a British romantic comedy television series that premiered on BBC One in 2002, produced by Tiger Aspect Productions. It stars Sally Phillips as Katie Nash, a lady healing from a divorce while writing relationship pieces for Eden, the women's magazine she works for. It was produced and primarily written by David Nicholls. The series was shot in November and December of 2001. It had 3.4 million viewers on average and a 15% audience share in its Sunday night timeslot over the course of six episodes. It was not recommissioned for a second series due to low ratings, leaving a cliffhanger. Before learning that Rescue Me had been canceled, Nicholls had written four episodes of the unmade second season. As a result, he stopped writing screenplays to focus on his debut novel, Starter for Ten. The series' theme song is a cover of "Rescue Me" by Oliver Darley.
