Samurai 7

Gonzo Animation created the anime television series Samurai 7 in 2004, which was based on Akira Kurosawa's highly praised film Seven Samurai, which was released in 1954. Toshifumi Takizawa was the one who directed the series, and Kaoru Wada and Eitetsu Hayashi were the ones who were responsible for the soundtrack. There are 26 episodes total, and the production cost for each one is approximately 32,500,000 yen. The series made its debut as an exclusive high definition CS-PPV broadcast on the anime satellite television network known as Animax in Japan. Subsequently, the network broadcasted it throughout its other relevant networks globally, including Southeast Asia, South Asia, Latin America, and other territories. Funimation Entertainment has purchased the dubbing rights in preparation for the film's release in North America. In the past, it has been broadcast in the United States on the Independent Film Channel in April 2006, and it has also been broadcast in high definition on the Animania HD channel of Dish Network. Additionally, it has been shown across the all of Canada by the specialist channel Razer, as well as across the entirety of Hong Kong on TVB Jade. The first episode of the series was shown on the Funimation Channel on September 6, 2010. On August 19, 2012, it made its debut as part of Adult Swim's revitalized Toonami block, and on February 10, 2013, it brought an end to its run.
