From September 1972 to August1973, the American science fiction series Search aired on NBC at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday nights. It lasted 23 episodes, not including the two-hour pilot feature Probe. Because Probe was already a PBS series, the title had to be altered when it was picked up for series production. The series was titled Search Control in the UK and aired on BBC One. Leslie Stevens, Robert Justman, John Strong, and Tony Spinner developed and produced the show. The lofty idea was defined as "science fiction in today's world," and the episodes included a lot of high-tech features that are usual in today's science fiction shows.
