Showtime at the Apollo

The Apollo Theater produces the syndicated music television program Showtime at the Apollo, which debuted on September 12, 1987 and ran for a total of 1093 episodes through May 24, 2008. The show combines live performances by both established and emerging musicians, as well as the Amateur Night competition made famous at the legendary Apollo Theater in the Harlem area of Manhattan, where the show is taped.
