Stitch! is Walt Disney Animation Studios' anime adaptation of the animated feature film Lilo & Stitch and the sequel to the Lilo & Stitch series. It debuted in Japan in October 2008 and takes place after the events of Leroy and Stitch. The show features a Japanese girl named Yuna in place of Lilo and is set on a fictitious island in the Ryukyus off the coast of Okinawa, rather than Hawaii. The island's name is Izayoi. The second season of the Japanese anime series Stitch! The Mischievous Alien's Great Adventure! began broadcasting on October 13, 2009. On July 6, 2010, TV Asahi broadcasted a third anime series, Stitch! Best Friends Forever, that was distinct from the first two seasons. The first season premiered in English on the Australian Disney Channel on December 4, 2009, and on the Disney Channel Asia on December 19, 2009. On May 2, 2010, the debut of the first season aired on Disney Channel Latin America in Latin Spanish dub. On June6,2011, the second season began in Latin America on Disney Channel. The third season premiered on August20,2012, on Disney Channel Latin America.
