Survivorman
In Canada, the Outdoor Life Network airs Survivorman, while Discovery Channel and Science Channel broadcast it globally. As of 2012, the show had run for three seasons and four specials. Survivalist Les Stroud is the host of the show and a Canadian filmmaker and survival expert who has filmed his exploits in distant locations when he had little or no food, water, or tools with him. According to the show's official website, Stroud and his team talked with survival experts and locals before scouting and pre-planning each location. The show focuses on Stroud's time spent working alone without a production team.
