Team Knight Rider is a syndicated television series that lasted from 1997 to 1998 and was based on the Knight Rider franchise. Rick Copp and David A. Goodman created TKR based on the original series produced by Glen A. Larson, who served as executive producer. TKR was created by Gil Wadsworth and Scott McAboy, syndicated by Universal Domestic Television, and ran for only one season and 22 one-hour episodes before being canceled owing to low ratings. The plot focuses on a new band of high-tech criminal fighters established by the Foundation for Law and Government in the footsteps of the legendary Michael Knight and his supercar KITT. Instead of "one guy making a difference," there are now five team members, each accompanied by a digital talking vehicle equivalent. Similar to the original partnership, TKR pursues infamous criminals who operate "beyond the law," including spies, assassins, terrorists, and drug traffickers. Michael Knight made a brief, behind-the-scenes appearance in the final episode of the season and the entire series.
