Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
In stark contrast to the harsh, violent, and gloomy MIRAGE comics from which the Turtles started, this franchise has remained the longest-running and most memorable of all. Hamato Yoshi, a Japanese man transferred to New York who was forced to live in the sewers, befriends four turtles that have fallen into the sewers. One day, he witnesses a peculiar green glow that changes the four turtles into human-like beings. Hamato (now Master Splinter) transforms into a huge rat from the green glow and teaches the turtles ninja techniques as they partner up with Channel 6 news reporter April O'Neil to confront Yoshi's archenemy Shredder and the alien tyrant Krang from Dimension X.
