The Beat

The Beat is a police procedural that follows the personal and professional lives of two young police recruits as they work in New York City. Officers Mike Dorigan and Zane Marinelli, two young and irreverent companions who are genuine products of their generation and the one-of-a-kind metropolitan atmosphere in which they were raised, see the day-to-day workings of the city through bloodshot eyes most of the time. Both of these men are forced to rely on their sense of humor in order to make it through the entirety of their shifts because of racial tensions, the use of excessive force by police, and the unpredictable quirkiness of New York's outspoken natives.
