The Hospital

The Hospital stars Jerry Yan, Leon Dai, Janine Chang, Zhang Guozhu, Ng Man Tat, and Tang Zhiping. Cài Yuè Xun directed and produced it. The series consists of 39 60-minute episodes and aired on China Television Monday through Friday at 20:00 from 15 August to 6 October 2006. The Hospital is based on a 2000 Chinese novel by Hou Wenyong. It illustrates authority and status in a Taiwanese university-affiliated hospital and community relations. Hou's novel is often likened to Toyoko Yamasaki's Shiroi Kyot due to the title and tale location. Asia has converted both books into TV programs. The drama won Best Directing and Best Supporting Actor at the 42nd Golden Bell Awards in 2007.
