The Inspector Alleyn Mysteries

The Inspector Alleyn Mysteries is a British crime show based on nine of Ngaio Marsh's Roderick Alleyn books. It was first shown on TV from 1990 to 1994. Simon Williams played Detective Inspector Alleyn in the first episode. Detective Sergeant Fox, Alleyn's right-hand man and "Watson," was played by William Simons, and Alleyn's love interest, painter Agatha Troy, was played by Belinda Lang. Williams wasn't available when the first series was made, so Simons and Lang went back to their old roles and Patrick Malahide played the main character. There were nine episodes in all, and each one was based on a different book. The eight Malahide episodes can be bought on DVD in the US and UK. All nine episodes are on an Australian set.
