The scion of one of the wealthy real estate families in New York, Robert Durst, has been accused of three murders but has never been convicted of any of them. He has never spoken in public before, but now is the time since he is brilliant, reclusive, and the focus of unrelenting media attention. During discussions with Andrew Jarecki, he divulges details of the investigation that have been kept hidden for the past three decades by the authorities. Jarecki's narrative film All Good Things, which was released in 2010, was based on the notorious true story of Robert Durst. After seeing the movie, Durst got in touch with Jarecki, seeking to tell him his side of the tale. As more and more of his remarkable life story was disclosed, the film that was originally intended to be a feature-length documentary evolved into a six-part series.
