The Monkees

From September 1966 to March1968, The Monkees was an American situation comedy that aired on NBC. The story follows four young men who are attempting to establish a name for themselves as rock 'n roll singers. The show earned two Emmy Awards in 1967 for introducing a number of unique new-wave cinematic techniques to series television. The show finished its second season on Labor Day,1968, and has had a long afterlife in Saturday morning repeats and syndication, as well as international broadcasts.
