In a country ruled by the powerful Wen clan, a young man named Wei Wuxian becomes friends with the fair-minded Lan Wangji. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji decide to help when they find evidence that the leader of the Wen clan is planning to cause trouble for the people in their land. But their attempts to stop the evil plans of the boss of the Wen clan don't work. In the chaos that follows, Wei Wuxian goes missing, and many people worry that the worst has happened to him. Wei Wuxian comes back out of the blue after 16 years. Soon, he meets up with Lan Wangji, just as a string of mysterious murders are happening. The two of them work together to investigate again, and this time they are determined not to fail... Can the two figure out what's going on? Will they figure out who killed who?
