Those Who Kill

Those Who Kill is a Danish crime TV series that debuted in 2011 and follows a fictitious squad inside the Copenhagen Police Department that is dedicated to investigating cases of serial murder. In Denmark, each episode of the series was split into two parts, but in most other countries, each episode was longer than a feature film. Denmark was the only country to screen the series in its original format. A standalone feature film with a running time of 92 minutes called Fortidens skygge, which serves as both a continuation and conclusion to the series, had its world premiere in Danish theaters on March 15, 2012. The film is currently being broadcast as the series' sixth and final episode in many other countries, including the United Kingdom and Germany. Elsbeth Egholm and Stefan Jaworski are responsible for the creation of the series as well as the writing of each episode. A number of other screenwriters, such as Siv Rajendram, Rikke De Fine Licht, and Morten Dragsted, contributed to the production of the series by writing individual episodes. Directors have been Birger Larsen, Niels Nørløv and Kasper Barfoed. Co-production companies from Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and Norway worked together to create this series. As a result of declining audience shares after the first few episodes, Danish TV2 decided in October 2011 that there would be no further seasons made of the show, despite the fact that it had been planned to run for several seasons initially and that it was scheduled to run for several seasons. The manager of programming for TV2, Keld Reinicke, remarked that "We have no intentions to continue the series because it never brought us the audience share that we expected in Denmark."
