US cable channel USA Network premiered Traffic: The Miniseries in2004, a three-part series depicting the intricate world of drugs, their delivery, the attendant violence and the wide range of people who are affected by it all. B.C.'s Kamloops, Ashcroft and Cache Creek were used as stand-ins for Afghanistan in the miniseries' production. Traffik, a British Channel 4 miniseries from1989, and Steven Soderbergh's film Traffic, a 2000 feature film, served as inspiration for this project. A total of three Emmy nominations were given to the American adaptation. It was written and directed by Eric Bross and Stephen Hopkins, with Ron Hutchinson serving as the showrunner. This film's cast is led by Cliff Curtis and Martin Donovan, and includes supporting actors Justin Chatwin and Jennifer Rae Westley as well as Katia Khatchadourian, Johanna Olson and Brian George in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Mary McCormack and Ritchie Coster as well as Nelson Lee and Tony Musante.
