Triangle was a soap opera that aired on BBC Television in the early 1980s. The show took place on a North Sea ferry that traveled from Felixstowe to Gothenburg and then from Gothenburg to Amsterdam. For the sake of the program's title, there was a third fictitious leg that ran between Amsterdam and Felixstowe; however, this leg was not serviced by the ferry business. Although it only aired for a total of three series before being pulled from the air, many people still consider it to be "some of the most mockable television ever made in the United Kingdom." Because the scripts featured cliched relationships and clunky conversation, the show became the punchline of countless jokes, most notably on Terry Wogan's morning show on Radio2, which resulted in considerable embarrassment for the BBC. The first episode of Triangle was shown for the first time on the BBC's screening of TV Hell in1992. TV Hell was an evening of programming that was dedicated to showcasing the worst that television had to offer at the time. The ferry that was used in the first series was the MS Tor Scandinavia, which was operated by Tor Line. This was replaced in the second and third series by the DFDS vessel Dana Anglia, most likely because she had a less hectic schedule and the extended time she was in port making it simpler to film on-board.
