After Miss Robbie Montgomery, a backup singer from the 1960s and a former member of the group "Ikette," suffered a collapsed lung and was forced to stop singing, she decided to put her abilities to use in another artistic endeavor and opened a restaurant serving soul food under the name Sweetie Pie's. This documentary series follows the Montgomery family as they labor to extend their empire one soulful dish at a time. The Montgomerys are a boisterous, loving, and frequently singing family.
