Wilfred is an Australian comedy television series starring Jason Gann, Adam Zwar, and Cindy Waddingham, directed by Tony Rogers and produced by Jenny Livingston. It was based on Zwar, Gann, and Rogers' award-winning 2002 short film, which was eventually adapted into a series. The plot revolves around the namesake dog Wilfred, his owner Sarah, and her boyfriend Adam, who sees Wilfred as a man in a dog suit. SBS One broadcasted two seasons, the first in 2007 and the second in 2010. The series received three AFI Awards and was nominated for a Logie. In2010, Independent Film Channel purchased the international broadcast rights to the first two seasons of Wilfred. On June 23, 2011, a U.S. version debuted on the cable channel FX.
