Witchblade
Witchblade is a manga-based anime series. Instead than adapting the original story, producers created a new plot with new characters. This co-production between Gonzo and Witchblade brand owner Top Cow was licensed for release in the US. The dub debuted on IFC in January 2008. IFC aired the series finale on June13,2008, at 3:30 AM ET on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The show is downloadable on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. The first 12 episodes are featured on Amazon Unbox. The show is also on Netflix. Since June2011, it's free on Hulu. As of December2008, Vol. 1 was available on DVD in the US and Canada. There's also a boxed set with all 24 episodes and other features. Blu-ray box set released November3, 2009. The anime was directed by Yoshimitsu Ohashi, who helmed Galaxy Angel and Galaxy Angel Z, and the character designer was Uno Makoto.
