The American police procedural and courtroom drama Women's Murder Club aired on ABC from October 12, 2007, to May 13, 2008. The series is set in San Francisco, California, and is based on James Patterson's 'Women's Murder Club' series of novels. Along with Patterson, Joe Simpson, Brett Ratner, and R. Scott Gemmill, series creators Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain served as executive producers. Gretchen J. Berg and Aaron Harberts co-executive produced, with the latter also serving as showrunner. Scott Winant directed the pilot episode. The series premiered on Friday nights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern/8:00 p.m. Central, produced by 20th Century Fox Television. ABC placed a third script order on October 31, 2007. The show was announced to return in late April with three episodes on February 23, 2008, just two weeks after it was almost cancelled. Women's Murder Club will return with three new episodes on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern/9:00 p.m. Central, replacing Boston Legal, as announced on March 31, 2008. ABC Television announced on May 12, 2008 that the show will not be renewed for a second season.
