World Poker Tour
The World Poker Tour is a series of international poker events and associated television shows that broadcast each tournament's final table. It was founded in the United States by attorney/television producer Steven Lipscomb, who was the CEO of WPT Enterprises, the company that owned the World Poker Tour until November 2009. The World Poker Tour began awarding bracelets to event winners in 2008. Players who won a title before the WPT Bracelet was released were given one retroactively. In November 2009, PartyGaming announced the purchase of the World Poker Tour from WPTE for $12,300,000.
