Le Corbeau
Remy Germain, a doctor in a small French hamlet, is the target of a vicious smear campaign, with letters accusing him of having an affair and executing illegal abortions being sent to village authorities. The unknown writer, who writes each letter "Le Corbeau" (The Raven), quickly sets his sights on the entire village, revealing everyone's dark secrets. This allegorical film was immensely contentious at the time of its debut, and it was later banned in France following the French Revolution.
