Gladiators is a British television drama series that aired on ITV from October10,1992, to January1,2000, and was produced by LWT. It's a remake of the American Gladiators series. Following the success of the British series, Australia and Sweden adapted it as well. In2008, the show was resurrected before being axed once more in 2009. John Fashanu and Ulrika Jonsson hosted the show at first, but Fashanu was replaced in 1997 by Jeremy Guscott. Guscott left the show in1998, but Fashanu returned in 1999 for the final season. John Anderson officiated the series, and Andrew Norgate, Derek Redmond, and Eugene Gilkes served as timekeepers throughout the duration. The show had its own cheerleaders, known as G-Force, and was hosted by John Sachs. Despite being produced by London Weekend Television, the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham was used to record all episodes of Gladiators, International Gladiators, The Ashes, and The Springbok Challenge. The first and second series of The Ashes and The Springbok Challenge, on the other hand, were shot on the Australian and South African sets of the programmes, respectively. Gladiators: Train 2 Win, a children's version of the series, aired on CITV from 1995 to 1998.
