The Newton family lives in a nice house, but something seems to be missing. A small puppy walks into their home and lives and fills this "hole." Beethoven, as his name suggests, grows up to be a big dog, a St. Bernard. The local vet, Doctor Varnick, has a secret and horrible side job that needs a lot of dogs for experiments.
