After being coerced into a relationship by Red (Delroy Lindo), a club proprietor who previously did her a favor, Sam Clayton (Vincent D'Onofrio) marries ex-stripper Freddie (Cameron Diaz) in a scene from the film. Freddie, on the other hand, falls in love with Jiaks (Keanu Reeves), Sam's brother, and the two attempt to flee the country together. It doesn't take long for both Sam and Red to catch up with them, resulting in threats against the two of them— although tension between Sam and Red begins to rise as well.
