Macross Plus is an original video animation (OVA) that consists of four episodes and a theatrical feature that is part of the Macross franchise. It was the first sequel to the original Macross television series that continued the story in the established continuity of the franchise. This combination paved the way for the increased use of computer-generated images in Japanese animation.
