Profit
When Profit first aired on Fox in 1996 at 9:00 p.m. EST, it was one of the network's most popular shows of the time. David Greenwalt and John McNamara wrote and starred in the series, which stars Adrian Pasdar as Jim Profit. In the United States, the first episode aired on Chiller in February 2008. In October of that year, CBS Action in Europe began airing episodes of the show. In many ways, the show was ahead of its time, paving the way for more current edgy shows like The Sopranos, Dexter, Breaking Bad, and The Shield. For mainstream audiences and Fox affiliates, the show's subversive undertones stemmed from the amoral activities of the principal character, which ultimately contributed to the death of the series. "Profit" was named "shockingly memorable" by TV Guide in its 2013 list of 60 "Cancelled Too Soon" series.
